Zac Efron has revealed that he broke his hand while fighting Dave Franco for a new movie.

The actor is currently filming Townies with the brother of actor James Franco.

However, he revealed on Thursday’s Live with Kelly and Michael that he was injured while recording a particular scene.

The star showed presenter Kelly Ripa and guest host Carrie Ann Inaba his swollen right hand next to his regular-sized left one.

He is now recovering from the accident after receiving medically treatment.

“[It occurred] during filming, it was during a stage fight with Dave Franco,” he explained. “I had to go back to work so I couldn’t really wear a cast.”

Efron explained that he now has metal in his palm but essentially has the full use of his hand again.

He said: “So they put like a titanium plate in it and a bunch of screws.

“I don’t know why I’m telling you this. My hand in theory is back to normal, it just looks really gross.”
