‘Easy’ Season 3 Premiere Date

written by Jasper XXX.III

Netflix has announced that the third and final season of the anthology series, Easy, will premiere on May 10th!

Creator Joe Swanberg’s “Easy,” returns for a third and final season on May 10, only on Netflix. This season of the anthology series consists of nine episodes and will feature some new faces as well as many returning fan favorite characters, all of whom are navigating the modern maze of love, sex, technology, and culture in Chicago.

From Creator, Director and Executive Producer Joe Swanberg: “EASY has been the most exciting and important project of my career. The anthology format allowed me to explore a range of stories and characters, but small moments of incidental overlap, or deep relationships between characters, connected the episodes enough that we were able to build a fictional community rooted in a real Chicago.

The support, flexibility and trust that Netflix provided, combined with their global reach, made this a completely unique experiment. The fact that I was able to collaborate with so many of my favorite actors took an already dreamy experience to the next level. I couldn’t be more proud of the new season and I can’t wait to share it.”

The new seasons stars Elizabeth Reaser (The Haunting of Hill House), Michael Chernus (Orange is the New Black), Jake Johnson (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse) , Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Black Mirror: San Junipero), Marc Maron (GLOW), Jane Adams (Sneaky Pete), Melanie Lynskey (Togetherness), Kate Micucci (Another Period), John Gallagher, Jr. (The Newsroom), Megan Ferguson (Casual), Sophia Bush (Chicago P.D.), Kiersey Clemons (Lady and the Tramp), Jaz Sinclair (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Jacqueline Toboni (Grimm), Zazie Beetz (Atlanta), Aya Cash (You’re The Worst), David Franco (The Disaster Artist), Evan Jonigkeit (X-Men: Days of Future Past), Danielle MacDonald (Dumplin’), Kali Skrap, Lindsay Burdge (Her Smell), Cliff Chamberlain (Altered Carbon), and Nicky Excitement (Win It All).”

Dave Franco Joins Michael Bay’s ‘Six Underground’

written by Jasper XX.VII

Dave has joined the ensemble cast of Michael Bay’s Netflix action movie, Six Underground. Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Adria Arjona, and Corey Hawkins have also signed on to the big-budget action film led by Ryan Reynolds. No further details, have been officially released, but being the first to report the casting, Collider shared some possible info about the film.

Not much is known about the actual plot of Six Underground, though the script was written by Reynolds’ Deadpool and Deadpool 2 scribes Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, who will also serve as executive producers. Interestingly enough, the tone of the film is said to be in the vein of Deadpool meets Mission: Impossible. Reynolds will lead a team of four men and two women on some kind of mission to stop evil, so he’ll play One (naturally) and Franco is making a deal to play Six.

Six Underground will start filming later this month and will be released worldwide in 2019.

“The LEGO Ninjago Movie” is heading to San Diego Comic-Con!

written by Neide XXVIII.VI

Fantastic news for all our The LEGO Ninjago Movie fans! It has been announced that the movie will be making its way to San Diego Comic-Con, along with the TV show! While there is no confirmation yet of Dave’s appearance at the convention, he is part of the cast and so, there is a high chance we will be seeing him in San Diego next month!

The biggest question about this year’s Warner Bros. panel isn’t if it’s happening — but rather, what they’ll be bringing (beyond, of course, a certain Justice League). Today, that question has been answered in part.

The LEGO Batman Movie director and executive producer of The LEGO Ninjago Movie, Chris McKay, was asked today on Twitter if Ninjago would be at San Diego Comic-Con — and his answer? Yes!

While that doesn’t fully guarantee a Hall H presence, it seems like a lock-in. Both The LEGO Movie and The LEGO Batman Movie received time on the annual Warner Bros. Hall H panel, with cast and creatives on hand to offer a look into their respective films. Ninjago boasts a large voice cast full of Comic-Con friendly talent, including Dave Franco, Justin Theroux, Michael Peña, Kumail Nanjiani, Abbi Jacobson, Zach Woods, Fred Armisen, Jackie Chan, and Olivia Munn — so there would be plenty of cast to choose from.

Franco’s “Blood Meridian” Test Reel Online

written by Nika XXIV.VII

In honor of Child of God’s release on August 1, I’m posting a 25-minute test I did for the film version of Blood Meridian. Blood Meridian, by Cormac McCarthy, is my favorite novel. It marks the midpoint of McCarthy’s career, between the Southern Gothic stories of his Tennessee days (he grew up in Tennessee and went to high school with painter Josh Smith) and his later border-based stories (The Border TrilogyNo Country for Old Men, The Road) after he moved to Texas and then to New Mexico.

In some ways Blood seems un-filmable. It is almost Biblical in its prose. His terse prose utilizes vocabulary only found in the crannies of annals of the Old West and the specialized spheres of working men. He captures the slang of forgotten peoples so deftly, it’s as if they were his barroom friends.

I made my test for Blood Meridian three or four years ago. It stars Scott Glenn, Luke Perry, Mark Pellegrino (Lost), and my brother, Dave. We shot it in three days in some place near Yosemite that is the mule capital of the world. If you know the book, you’ll recognize that this is the sequence where Tobin recounts how the Glanton gang met the Judge, a Satan-like character and Glanton’s right-hand man. The gang was out of gunpowder and about to be caught by Apache warriors, whereupon they would be killed for lack of working weaponry. Enjoy.
